Everitt Family Summer 2007

Everitt Family Summer 2007
In the summer of 1949, Grandpa & Grandma Everitt took me to a YMCA family camp in the Adirondicks. We continued going to Silver Bay each summer for all of my childhood. In 1984, on the way to live in New York City, I took my own children to enjoy the peace and fun of my childhood summers. We went back again as we left New York in the summer of 1988. While standing on the shore of beautiful Lake George, we made a pack to return to Silver Bay the first summer all of the children at the time were married. Thanks to the generosity of my children, we were all able to keep this promise. Sarah was married in December of 2006. With all of the children of 1988 now married, a fourth generation of Everitts decended on Silver Bay during the summer of 2007. 24 of us arrived in June for a week of family fun. Our family now numbered 25 with 2 more on the way. One year later, June 2008, we are 27 in number with again two more on the way.

Waiting for pics from my other kids on this event, but just wanted to say how proud we are of Andrew and his accomplishments. To be continued . . .

The good news is that I got a job. The bad news is that it is in the middle of nowhere in Nevada at a pay cut of $10,000. However, I am excited to start this new adventure. If you want to see how small the place where I will be going, go to www.local.live.com Click location under the box at the top and put in Hadley, NV. If you zoom in a little, you will see exactly how small this place is. The school has a total of 370 students, preschool-12th. I am looking forward to working with all the ages of kids. (I enjoyed doing K-8th these past two years as I worked quite a bit with the K-5th kids at Crossroads when I was there.)
So - The nearest Walmart is 4 hours away. How does that strike you? I know it all sounds crazy, but this is where I found a job, so at this point I am just thankful for work. The principal seems very nice, and I am choosing to make this a fun adventure. Once I am there, I am sure I will fall in love with it just as I did with Park View Middle School and Crossroads.
